What You Need To Know Before and After Your Laser Treatment
Pre Treatment Care
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for at least 7 days before treatment. Tanned skin increases the risk of irritation and reduces treatment effectiveness. Use SPF 30+ daily.
Shave the the treatment area before your appointment.
Do not wax, tweeze, thread, bleach, or use depilatory creams for at least 2 weeks prior. The laser targets the hair root, which must be present for effective treatment.
Arrive with clean skin. Do not apply makeup, lotions, oils, deodorant, or any topical products to the treatment area.
Avoid using retinol, Retin-A, exfoliating acids, or other active skincare products on the treatment area for 3–5 days before treatment.
Inform your provider if you are taking antibiotics, Accutane, or any photosensitizing medications, or if you have started new medications.
Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores, cosmetic tattoos, pigmentation, or permanent makeup in the treatment area.
If you have had recent sun exposure, skin irritation, or any changes in your health, please notify us before your appointment.
Post Treatment Care

Redness, mild swelling, or warmth in the treated area is normal and typically resolves within a few hours. A cool compress or aloe vera may be used if needed.
Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense workouts for 24–48 hours after treatment.
Do not exfoliate, scrub, or use retinol, acids, or other active products on the treated area for 3–5 days.
Avoid waxing, tweezing, or threading between sessions. Shaving is allowed if needed.
Hair shedding may occur over the next 1–3 weeks. This is a normal part of the process as treated hairs are gradually released.
Keep the area clean and avoid applying heavy creams, oils, or makeup for 24 hours after treatment.
If you experience prolonged redness, blistering, or irritation, please contact your provider.
