Getting ready for your laser hair removal session is just as important as the treatment itself. Following the right pre-treatment steps ensures your safety, maximizes results, and helps your sessions run smoothly.

At Ecous Laser Medspa we provide all clients with clear guidelines before their appointments, but here’s a helpful overview of what to do (and what to avoid) before your treatment.

Essential Pre-Treatment Instructions

• Shave the area 24 hours before your appointment (except women getting facial treatments).

• Arrive with clean skin — no deodorants, lotions, or cosmetics on the treatment area.

• Avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks before treatment. Sunburned or recently tanned skin cannot be treated safely.

• Always use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen if you’re outdoors in Scottsdale.

• Do not wax, tweeze, bleach, or use depilatory creams for at least two weeks before treatment — these methods remove the hair root the laser targets.

• Shaving is the only safe method during your treatment series.

• Discontinue antibiotics at least two weeks before treatment.

• Stop Retin-A and Accutane at least six months before treatment.

• Avoid Retinol for five days before treatment.
